Timothy
Spano leads baseball team to state title
May 30, 2010
Timothy Spano has helped lead his baseball team to
win
the Virginia state title! You can catch Timothy behind the
plate, on the mound, or anywhere else on the field. You
can also find him crushing the ball when he's up to bat as
his team has been putting up some huge numbers each game.
Timothy's team is now ranked 4th in the nation and
they
are preparing for the national championship in July!

Kaitlin
Belcher receives 1st place at art show!

Kaitlin had several pieces of artwork entered into
the art
show at Byrd Middle School. Her bird house got first place
and her pottery drawing was selected to be shown at the
"Festival in the Park" on Memorial Day weekend!

Sienna Cramer gets 1st & 3rd place at the Special
Olympics
April 27, 2010
Sienna participated at the Middle School and High
School track
& field Special Olympics at Glenvar High School. She placed
in 2 divisions including a first place finish!
Also, great job Sierra Logan for volunteering at
this event!

Lain Diehl wins "Armed Knockout" in AFJROTC
March 20, 2010
Lain won armed knockout on March 27th at Monticello
High and got
6th in unarmed knockout. He also won unarmed knockout at
Franklin County High.
Armed knockout is when a whole bunch of
cadets stand in the middle of the
floor and one person calls commands
and the cadets do them. The commander will
call them fast or slow or
sometimes call wrong commands. If you execute a
command wrong,
you are out. The last man standing wins.
*UPDATE- Lain went on to win the state title in April!

Generation246 helps with the Neighbor Helping Neighbor Day

Our teens joined together to serve Lemonade and perform the song
and sign language "Jesus Saves" at Mt. Pleasant Methodist's
Neighbor Helping Neighbor Day.

Erica
Pagans hands over her "Teen Miss Greater Franklin" crown
May 2, 2009
In 2008, Erica Pagans achieved the title of "Teen Miss Greater Franklin
County". She later would achieve the great honor of being named
the "2008-2009 Junior Miss Virginia". Saturday, May 2nd, was Erica's
last day holding the Franklin County Crown. During this past year,
God has allowed Erica and her family to travel around Virginia and
the neighboring states being a shining face for Christ.


MPBC Youth Featured on News Channel 10
May 1, 2009
Every month, a group of our teens and some adults serve in the Friday
Night Friends Ministry, helping disabled kids and adults. The teens
play, hang out, do crafts, and put smiles on their faces. On Friday,
May 1st, News Channel 10 did a story about Friday Night Friends and
used pictures of our teens serving in the ministry. Too see the video,

Macy Rowland presents artwork at the Center in the Square
April 30, 2009
Macy Rowland had the privilege of attending the 25th Annual High School
Art Exhibition at Center In the Square on April 30th, 2009. About 800
pieces of art work from 17 High Schools in the Roanoke Valley were
submitted and only 145 of those were chosen to be showed. Macy's piece
called "Relax", modeled by Kathleen Duffy, was one out of 13 chosen from
William Byrd High School. None from WBHS placed, but Macy said, "it was
still a huge honor for my artwork to be chosen for something this huge.
I had so much fun and I thank God for giving me a wonderful opportunity
like this and the love and talent for photography he has given me!"


Eden Bowen gains her Level 1 Certificate in Parelli with her horse
April 22, 2009
Eden Bowen has been working hard with her horse, Woody, to be ranked
in the Parelli Natural Horsemanship (based on levels of relationship, skill,
and communication with your horse). After working toward this for several
years, April 22nd she received on of the top rankings for Level 1 by the
Parelli Center. Eden plans to continue working hard to one day reach a
level 3 or 4 (the highest levels possible).
